The Ghastly Dreadfuls At Atlanta’s Center For Puppetry Arts

Every mom knows: Sometimes you just have to take a break, get out of the house, and have a little grown-up fun in order to maintain what little sanity you have left. (Hey, it was your decision to have a child, wasn’t it?)

I stepped out for an adult puppet show at Atlanta’s Center For Puppetry Arts this past weekend, and I am still very surprised at just how much fun I had! My girlfriend and I attended The Ghastly Dreadfuls performance, and it was an unbelievable experience from start to finish. The group mixes the spooky elements of Halloween and death with humor and surprise. The end result is an immensely entertaining performance that really sticks with you for days.

While I will admit that it felt strange at first to attend a “puppet show” without my daughter by my side, my first impressions of the show immediately cancelled out all of my hesitations. I highly recommend catching this performance before it is gone.

Please keep in mind that this show is for guests ages 16 and up, so leave the little ones with friends and enjoy a night out. The center offers a very reasonably priced cash bar to purchase beer and wine before the show and during intermission. Performances are held Wednesday – Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and runs through October 27.

Tickets are $15 for members and $25 for non-members,
and can be purchased online through WWW.PUPPET.ORG or by calling the ticket sales office at: 404-873-3391.

What’s your favorite thing to do on mom’s night out?

I received tickets as part of a promotional program with The Center For Puppetry Arts, however all opinions come from my own personal experiences with the performance mentioned in the review. Photo credit: Center For Puppetry Arts
