It’s that time again! Halloween is behind us, and Christmas is rapidly approaching. I’m fairly positive that a certain turkey-themed holiday is somewhere in between, but let’s get real: Nothing is better than Christmas!
Atlanta folks are in luck yet again, as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer has returned to the Center For Puppetry Arts. I can think of no better way to welcome the upcoming holiday than to experience Jon Ludwig’s adaptation of the classic Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer 1964 movie at one of my very favorite Atlanta locations.
Featuring all of the iconic characters that we know and love, the Center For Puppetry Arts is set to entertain children and bring out the nostalgia in dear old mom and dad this holiday season with the performance of this cherished Christmas tale.
“The Center for Puppetry Arts’ beloved holiday adaptation of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™ is soaring back into town to once again charm Atlanta audiences this holiday season. Adapted and directed by the Center’s Artistic Director, Jon Ludwig, the production is based on the classic 1964 stop-motion animated special and provides the audience with the opportunity to experience the timeless tale of Rudolph and his misfit friends live on stage. Opening on November 8, Ludwig’s adaptation for the puppet stage faithfully embraces the original and includes all of the timeless characters such as the aspiring dentist, Hermey the elf, Yukon Cornelius, and the Abominable Snow Monster. The Center is honored to work again with Character Arts LLC to bring back the licensed puppet stage production of this yuletide classic.”
Performances of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will run from November 8 – January 6, 2013 in the Mainstage Theater at the Center For Puppetry Arts. This show is recommended for children ages 4+. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the Ticket Sales Office at 404.873.3391.
Who is your favorite character from the classic Rudolph movie? (Mine is Rudolph. He has this adorable awkwardness about him that just makes my heart melt!)
