Anastasia State Park is located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida and features over four miles of secluded beach access that allows a safe environment for family fun. We visited this beach at the end of January, and the warm and sunny climate of Florida and lack of crowds made our day at the beach one of the best that I’ve ever experienced.
If you plan to visit Florida, the end of January and beginning of February is the perfect time to go. The weather is warm and not many people think to travel to the beach during this time, making it an ideal season to visit with your family. As you can see above, Danger had a really wonderful day at the beach at Anastasia State Park!
She also wanted to collect shells from along the beach, so we strolled up and down looking for hidden treasures. We saw plenty of conch shells that were picked apart by the seagulls and other birds that frequent the beach in search of food. We also saw a piece of whale vertebrae (if it wasn’t whale vertebrae, then it was some other HUGE sea critter!) and several beached jellyfish puddles.
Goodbye for now, Anastasia State Park! I am sure my family will visit this beautiful and serene beach on another family vacation to Florida. We are making family travel more of a priority, as it is a wonderful way to unplug and reconnect with each other: something everyone could use a little more of these days.
